East Tennessee Chapter Alumni Foundation Scholarship

 

Amount: Awarded once annually. Awards may vary 

Criteria: State of Tennessee Resident; for a first-time freshman and must reside in one of the following fourteen (14) counties: Anderson, Blount, Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier, Sullivan, and Washington.

Other requirements: 

  • A 3.0 unweighted grade point average,

  • Attend sponsored East Tennessee Alumni Chapter student recruitment events, 

  • A completed East Tennessee Chapter Alumni Foundation application*,

  • A completed East Tennessee Alumni Scholarship local application (below) and

  • An official transcript with an ACT or SAT score included.

Tennessee State University
Presidential Scholarship
 
Amount: If awarded the scholarship, it covers Tuition, Fees, Room and Board for up to eight semesters. Awards may vary

Criteria: The Tennessee State University Presidential Scholarships is awarded to recognize the academic achievement of incoming freshman. To be considered for this scholarship a student must have a 3.5 GPA unweighted High School GPA and a 25 ACT or 1130 SAT test score; and no prior college attendance.

Academic Higher Achiever Scholarship
 

Amount: If awarded the scholarship, it covers Tuition, Fees, Room and Board for up to eight semesters.

Criteria: The Tennessee State University Academic Higher Achiever Scholarship is awarded to recognize the academic achievements of incoming freshman residing in the State of Tennessee. To be considered for this scholarship a student must be a State of Tennessee high school graduate with a minimum 3.0 unweighted High School GPA and a 21 ACT or 980 SAT (Verbal and Math) test score; and no prior college attendance.

Building Bridges Grant

 

Amount: If awarded the grant, it covers Tuition and Fees, Room and Board for up to eight semesters

Criteria: The Tennessee State University Building Bridges Grant is awarded to recognize the achievements of incoming freshman. To be considered for this scholarship a student must be a high school graduate with a minimum 2.5 unweighted High School GPA and a 19 ACT or 900 SAT (Verbal and Math) test score; and no prior college attendance.

Academic Work Scholarship
 

Amount: Tuition for four year period and $150.00 per semester for books

Criteria: The Tennessee State University Academic Work Scholarship is awarded to recognize the academic achievements of incoming freshman residing in the State of Tennessee. To be considered for this scholarship a student must be a State of Tennessee high school graduate with a minimum 2.9 unweighted High School GPA and a 19 ACT or 900 SAT (Verbal and Math) test score; and no prior college attendance. If awarded the scholarship covers Tuition and Fees for up to eight semesters.

Additional requirements: If awarded, student must work on campus 75 hours per semester;

Amount: Tuition for four year period and $150.00 per semester for books

Tennessee State University
Access and Diversity Grant

 

Amount: Tuition, awarded on a semester basis. Awards may vary;

Criteria: 2.5 High School GPA Un-weighted and 19 ACT or 900 SAT (Verbal and Math) for first time freshmen; or 3.0 for Transfer and continuing students; and Must also meet one of the following requirements: FAFSA expected contribution of $4,000 or less; or pursuing a degree in a STEM discipline such as engineering, math, biology, nursing, etc.

All scholarships listed require full-time enrollment in order for a student to receive the award. If a student exceeds their financial aid budget, as set by the Financial Aid Office, scholarship awards will be reduced as required by law.
