SPRING RECRUITMENT INFORMATION / PREVIEW DAY
The East Tennessee Chapter of the Tennessee State University National Alumni Association cordially invites you to a Junior Jumpstart Spring Preview Day for prospective students on the campus Tennessee State University. This event will be an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about admissions, Honors College, academic programs, and meet with currently enrolled students, admissions and academic advisors from Tennessee State University
Junior Jumpstart Spring Preview Day
Meet with Academic Departments and Student Organizations, Tour Our Beautiful Campus, Hear the World Famous Aristocrat of Bands, Have Lunch on Us and attend the TSU Big Blue Tiger Football Game. High School Seniors should bring official copies of their high school transcripts and ACT/SAT Scores for On the Spot Admissions.
Groups of 10 or more should email the recruitment office at recruitment@tnstate.edu for special accommodations.

The Process to Registration
The East Tennessee Chapter of the Tennessee State University National Alumni Association will be sending an email to a majority of high schools (including administrators,.counselors and teachers) in Anderson, Blount, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier, Sullivan & Washington in an effort to identify talented students.
Educators that receive our invitation should feel free to notify as many talented students as they deem necessary based on unweighted grade point averages, ACT and/or SAT scores and other talents such as athletics, vocal and musical talents.
Educators, Parents or Students may nominate someone including themselves at the "myTSU Profile Card" link. Please completely fill out the online card.
Students are invited to attend the "Knoxville Scholarship Reception" hosted by The Office of Recruitment and Admission from Tennessee State University and the East Tennessee Chapter of the Tennessee State University National Alumni Association. At this event, students are encouraged to:

Bring their official transcripts to turn in at registration.

Bring all of their official ACT and/or SAT scores.

Network with on campus faculty, local alumni, current TSU students and high school students from the region

Parents and students will be able to acquire TSU recruitment information and participate in a Q&A session

Apply to the Tennessee State University (may be completed pre or post reception. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY ADMITTED STUDENTS MAY BE INVITED TO THE PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLAR'S RECEPTION.)

Apply for the East Tennessee Chapter Scholarship (must have a 3.0 unweighted GPA before August 1st, 2018)
Students from the Knoxville Scholarship Reception or later nominated by their high school may be selected by the Tennessee State University Office of Recruitment and Admissions as candidates for:

Tennessee State University Foundation Scholarships (Students may apply in the spring annually)

Tennessee State University Departmental Scholarships (Apply within your students desired program of study)
NOTE: Students that are selected by the by the Tennessee State University Office of Recruitment and Admissions to attend the Knoxville Scholarship Reception will be notified directly from the university. Each admitted student selected has the potential to earn a scholarship ranging from a Presidential Scholarships (covers Tuition, Fees, Room and Board for up to eight semesters. Awards may vary) to the local TSUNAA-East Tennessee Alumni Scholarship (Award may vary)

Tennessee and Non-Tennessee Residents: 2.50 cumulative weighted GPA and 19 ACT/900 SAT (Verbal and Math Scores only)
Eligible for:

Building Bridges Grant - 2.5 unweighted High School GPA and a 19 ACT or 900 SAT (Verbal and Math) test score; covers Tuition and Fees, Room and Board for up to eight semesters

Access and Diversity Grant -2.5 High School GPA Unweighted and 19 ACT or 900 SAT (Verbal and Math) for first-time freshmen; covers tuition, awarded on a semester basis. Awards may vary;
Alumni Scholar Level

Presidential Scholar Level
Tennessee and Non-Tennessee Residents: 3.0 cumulative unweighted GPA an19 ACT/SAT scores
Eligible for:

TSUNAA-ETC Alumni Scholarship (see requirements when applying; restrictions may apply)

Academic Higher Achiever Scholarship - 3.0 un-weighted High School GPA and a 21 ACT or 980 SAT (Verbal and Math) test score (covers Tuition, Fees, Room and Board for up to eight semesters)
Tennessee and Non-Tennessee Residents: 3.5 minimum cumulative unweighted GPA and 22 ACT/ 1100 SAT scores preferably 25 ACT /1200 SAT score or greater.

President Dr. Glenda Glover is making sure qualified students have full access to opportunities at Tennessee State University. She has initiated a “Presidential Scholars’ Reception” program to meet with high school graduating seniors in their communities and offer them scholarships to attend Tennessee State University.
